Group Therapy

What is group therapy and how does it help me?

Group sessions are conducted with 3-8 client participants and 1-2 Counsellors / Psychotherapists. Each session lasts 1:15′-1:45′ and the frequency is once per week.

By working within a group therapy setting, we are given the opportunity to explore ourselves through various ‘social’ processes. These social processes, under specific conditions, can bring about faster and more effective results in terms of the desired therapeutic goals (change, self-improvement, etc.).

Group therapy can touch on general issues such as self-awareness and socialization, but also much more specific issues such as stress management, eating disorders, single-parent families, people with chronic illnesses or their partners/caregivers, interaction with people who have the same phobias, etc.

In our Counselling Center, various types of group therapies are offered that are concerned with increasing self-awareness, facilitating self-improvement and changing the person’s maladaptive beliefs and behaviours, for a functional everyday life and a better future.
